CKEditor AI (SaaS) is the fastest way to get started. It works out of the box with no additional setup or API keys required — we handle the AI infrastructure for you with our Cloud Services. This means you can enable powerful AI features like AI Chat, AI Quick Actions, and AI Review directly in your editor without managing LLM providers, tokens, or backend services.
- CKEditor AI On-Premises is designed for organizations that need full control over their AI infrastructure. It allows you to use your own API keys, connect your preferred LLM providers (including self-hosted models), and keep all data within your environment. This option is ideal for teams with strict compliance, data residency, or security requirements, and also supports advanced integrations through MCP (Model Context Protocol), enabling you to connect the editor's AI to your existing business systems and data sources.

Our legacy product, AI Assistant, remains available for existing users. Unlike CKEditor AI, it requires you to separately configure an external AI provider (such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or Amazon Bedrock) and manage API keys on your side. For new implementations, we recommend CKEditor AI for a more integrated, feature-rich experience.
