Please note that CKEditor 4 reached its End of Life (EOL) in June 2023. From then on, it receives no more updates, new features, bug fixes, and most importantly, security patches. If you have an active CKEditor 4 subscription and need help, you can contact our support team. If you are not ready to migrate yet, for a limited time we are offering a paid Extended Support Model that will protect you against security vulnerabilities and/or breaking third-party API changes. |
CKEditor 4 is highly customisable and can be adjusted to your needs. It means that you can select only the features and languages you will be using instead of installing the full package.
If you want to use the CKEditor 4 source code in your test or production environment, never use the source version of CKEditor 4 on production. Instead, you must create a CKEditor 4 ‘build’ or ‘release version’, which is an optimised, production-ready CKEditor 4 distribution. Use the source version for plugins development only.
To customise your package, go to our Builder and pick the features you like. Don’t download and add plugins manually – you can either use the online or command line version of Builder.
